Conscientious shopping is great, but—let's be honest—it's not going to change the world unless we couple it with real activism. Here are some ways to get involved in creating a humane economy.

Anti-sweatshop/workers' rights

• United Students Against Sweatshops. Working and educating to end ultra-exploitative work conditions in the US and abroad.
• Campaign for Labor rights. The grassroots mobilizing department of the U.S. anti-sweatshop movement.
• Sweatshop Watch, a coalition of over 30 labor, community, civil rights, immigrant rights, women's, religious and student organizations, and many individuals, committed to eliminating the exploitation that occurs in sweatshops.
• Boycott the Bell. Find out why the Coalition of Immokalee Workers has called for a boycott of Taco Bell, and then join the boycott until the Bell takes responsibility for the deplorable work conditions of those who pick its vegetables.
